Singapore Expatriate

Each year thousands of people make the decision to move to Singapore to start a new career life as an Expatriate in Singapore. Most of them would soon find it one of the best decisions they have ever made. There are many reasons why Singapore is a dream comes true for many expatriate and their family members.

Expatriate Living In Singapore

Singapore is situated among many tropical island, making it an ideal place for Singapore expatriate to live a life balanced with work and leisure. There are always weekends and public holidays to look forward to holidaymaking with family members and friends. Singapore open and transparent immigration rules make it easy for Singapore expatriates to move around in neighboring countries for business and leisure.

Financial Considerations For Singapore Expatriate

In terms of financial planning, Singapore expatriate requires adequate coverage of accommodation, transport, education for children, personal and family health insurance, personal and family life insurance and personal and family travel insurance. It is only prudent for Singapore expatriate to consider full financing needs over a period of 5 to 10 years.

Singapore accommodations are not cheap but there are always good bargains for the budget conscious. Transport cost is equally expensive if the Singapore expatriate choose to be a car owner instead of taking advantage of the well-built and economical public transport system.

Health Care For Singapore Expatriate

Health care facilities in Singapore are reliable, similar to world class standards. Singapore health insurance, life insurance and travel insurance are reasonably priced and it is important for an expatriate to be covered adequately, especially when health cost worldwide is getting more and more expensive. Unlike countries such as United Kingdom, Singapore does not provide publicly funded healthcare. Yet the cost for normal outpatient treatment is still comparably low for expatriates who are used to paying for private healthcare in their home countries. In many cases, expatriates are very pleasantly surprised to discover that they and their family members can get the same level of or better medical treatment far more cheaply.
